Because knowing how to invest, save, and budget means always having enough for an occasional treat like a great night out, a designer handbag, or fabulous pair of shoes. Start 2009 off on the right foot financially with Hello Stiletto's "Recessionista Shoe Party" taking place January 12th from 6-9pm at The Capital Grille in Burlington. Meet Gwendolyn Beck, author of Flirting with Finance, a non-fiction guide that combines romance and real life scenarios with explanations of financial concepts. Gwendolyn will present her book and speak about balancing finances, particularly in this tough economy, so that you can always afford the things you love in life. You'll of course need to come appropriately attired in fabulous footwear. The evening will feature a pink carpet "walk off" with a special twist... We want to see your best bargain shoes on the catwalk. Come show off the best deal you ever got on a pair of shoes, whether they're a $10 find, a pair you made yourself, or a designer steal you scored on clearance. Winners of the 'best bargain shoe competition' will be awarded fun prizes. To attend, please RSVP here. Admission is $25 per person and includes a copy of "Flirting with Finance," complimentary Capital Grille appetizers, and a cash bar. A portion of the admission price will also benefit the Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis. Admission will be payable at the door, cash only. The Capital Grille is located at 10 Wayside Road, Burlington, MA inside the new Wayside Commons shopping center. Any non-members wishing to attend should sign up for the shoe club before RSVPing.
