There are clubs for everything these days. Ever heard of the Hello Stiletto Shoe Club?
The Shoe Club is a group of individuals who love shoes. Founded in Boston, they now have events in five other cities, including Chicago.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, the Chicago group will hold a shoe shopping party and wine tasting at Mount Prospect's new Designer Shoe Outlet, 301 W. Central Road.
Designer Shoe Outlet offers designer shoes at deeply discounted prices. Brands include Franco Sarto, Coach, Steve Madden and Cole Haan.
Wines to be tasted at the event will be provided by Vino 100, 110 N. Emerson St. Dave's Specialty Foods, 105 W. Prospect Ave., will supply gourmet snacks.
According to the group's Web site, www.shoeclub.us, there is no cost to attend events other than what attendees buy, eat or drink while they are there.
"We organize the date, place and time of a fun foot-featuring outing, with venues ranging from bars and restaurants to salons and shopping malls," the Web site states. "You turn up wearing your favorite shoes. Sometimes there's even a best shoe competition and prizes are awarded."
